Giving Opportunites

Benefiting residents now and in the future
Your gift to Friendship Village can take a variety of different forms— we gratefully accept support of all kinds, ranging from cash gifts and appreciated property to gifts of stock and in-kind gifts.
Cash Gifts:
Gifts of cash, checks, and money orders are always welcome.
Pledges:
You can spread out payment of your gift over two years or more by completing a pledge payment form.
Stock:
Gifts of stock are accepted and appreciated. The stock will be valued at the average price reported in The Daily Herald on the day it is received.
Appreciated Property:
We welcome gifts of art, real estate, and other appreciated personal property for review prior to acceptance. If the gift is valued at more than $5,000, the donor must have it independently appraised, in accordance with IRS guidelines.
In-kind Gifts:
Products and services may also be gifted to Friendship Village. These gifts are reviewed individually to assure they are consistent with our mission.
Life Insurance:
You can name Friendship Village as the full or partial beneficiary of a life insurance policy.
Gift Annuities:
We have a program in place that allows you to receive income for life, to receive a generous charitable contribution, and to know that your gift will ultimately benefit Friendship Village.
Wills:
A simple way to contribute is by including Friendship Village in your will. You can either designate a specific amount, or designate a percentage of your estate to the Village.
Trusts:
You can also establish a trust for Friendship Village, or revise an existing one to provide support for our community.
You also have the opportunity to support a particular project or program at Friendship Village. A variety of specific funds have already been made possible by philanthropic support from residents, their family and friends, staff, and the community at large.
No matter what form you would like your gift to take, we recommend you discuss your plans with your next of kin, your attorney, your financial planner, and your tax advisor. Of course, we in the Development Department would also be happy to assist you as you make your plans.
